“One hundred years from now…it won’t matter what kind of car you drove, what kind of house you lived in, how much money you had in the bank, nor the clothes you wore…but, the world might be a little better because you were important in the life of a child.” – Forest Wincraft

$150,000+ Raised

To Support St. Clair County Child Abuse and Neglect Council

Community ‘Roof-Sit’ for Kids’ Sake was a success again this year! We remain overwhelmed by the generosity of our community and are especially grateful for all of our angel investors, donors, volunteers, Radio First, Q-Country 107.1,  and Matt Markham who together raised more than $148,000 to support our belief that “it shouldn’t hurt to be a child” – you are all truly amazing!

Each year, St. Clair County Child Abuse and Neglect Council partners with WSAQ-Country to host ‘Roof-Sit’ to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect and funds to support the Council’s work with children and families throughout St. Clair County.

This week-long event is hosted on the roof of Mi-Mutual Mortgage in downtown Port Huron. WSAQ Radio’s morning personality, Matt Markham, camps out on the roof of Mi-Mutual Mortgage while broadcasting live for five days, encouraging pledges. Council team members and community volunteers staff the headquarters and participate in special events throughout the week to raise awareness and encourage community participation.
