The St. Clair County Child Abuse/Neglect Council provides a variety of programs to students in our county to help them become aware of what sexual violence is and how to handle it. Sexual Harassment can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere.

 

 

 

       Sexual Harassment is any unwelcomed:

      • Look
      • Rumor
      • Joke
      • Name Calling
      • Gesture
              

 

 

Sexual Harrassment is any deliberate or repeated sexual behavior that is unwelcomed, as well as other sex-related behaviors that are hostile, offensive, or degrading.

Sexual Assault is FORCED Sexual Contact

85% of sexual assault happens by someone you know and trust like a friend, a date, a family member, pastor, coach or someone you may have seen once or twice.

 

What Can You Do?

  • Set clear limits with dates
  • Group date vs. single dates
  • Call your parents when you are in a jam
  • Never go to an isolated area

 

Know how to make an assertive statement

  • “I need you to stop!”
  • “I am not O.K. with this!”
  • “I am calling my parents to pick me up!”
